Dollhouse: Ice’s House

I’ve decided to document my dollhouse progress for those who are interested. I’ve had a lag in renovations on the dollhouse while I’ve been collecting goodies for inside it. So now it has only part of a roof, one side finished in a way I’ve decided against, and the rooms are piled with random things I’ve collected for the project. Le sigh.

So, in the beginning I found this house on the sidewalk during trash night. It’s a little battered but a good starter project, I thought. So I cut the front plastic roof beam and pulled part of the roof off with the intention of leveling it to create a terrace and an extra room. I also cut a big circular hole in the master bedroom back wall to create a rose window, as this is to be a renovated church. That’s about it so far.

This is a rough beginning to the reno of Ice’s place. No decorating yet. The roof terrace hasn’t been worked on since then, and part of it was demolished by my cats. Not happy. Anyhow, I have worked on decorating the bedrooms on the second floor a bit. There is furniture in the photos, but it’s by no means the final version of anything.

Angel and Wynter's room

Angel and Wynter's room

This is Angel and Wynter’s room. They need a bunk bed, but for now they sleep together in the ‘big boy bed.’ Excuse the mess, they have friends over. Angel and Wynter are the fuzzy white ones. They’ll be getting shelves and decorations soon.

Adult bedroom

The adult bedroom has paper mache on the walls to strengthen and blend them with the extensions I put in to make a pitched roof into a terrace. So I used it as texture, then sponge painted it with 2 colours of red and then gold, and added trim from some beautiful scrapbook paper.  No floor yet. The dolls were made for me by Chels, and need some finishing so I’m not supposed to share them yet. (Ignore them there on the too-small mattress.) I’m thinking of changing the furniture to a darker colour for contrast.
