First of all, I thought I should share my top hat obsession with you. There are a lot of them here, but I’m only showing a few, and they aren’t entirely finished. Some still need decorations and need the white edges to be dirtied so it looks more natural. The pattern came from another site, which I’ll link later when I find it again. Very easy and wonderful! Chels trimmed down a billion feathers for me, so they are more to scale for the hats. I made the clocks by printing out clock faces at various sizes and then gluing them to buttons. I think they look pretty awesome! As you can see, I tried out a larger size as well, in the back left of the photo.
Next is my undersea box purse. I promise I’ll get some better and more complete photos, as this one is going up for sale. I really love how it came out. The paper is from DCWV’s Once Upon a Time, from the mermaid page. I wrapped the box and the front of the knob with the paper. The sides are painted purple with a gold shimmer over top. I braided the strap from ribbon I love that matches the paper’s colours well, and also added the green tear-shaped pearls and dangling pearl chains. The whole thing closes with a ribbon wrap. Inside is painted.
It’s big enough to hold the essentials for a night out if you want to actually use it, and pretty enough to hang on the wall otherwise.
Lastly, for today, is my Purple Pocket Album. It has 6 pocket pages, and the backs have coordinating photo mats. Each pocket has a textured mat in it as well. The whole album is about 4×6″ or so (can’t find my ruler again, lol!). The front has butterflies and flowers that match the interior decorative papers, and the green ribbon that ties it has an iridescent purple sheen that I think looks so pretty with the purple.
I have a steampunk version of the purple album going too, which I started at the same time. I just wanted more decorative elements for the project so I’ve been waiting. There’s a matching TP album too, on hold for the same reason. I find it best to work on matching things at the same time.
That’s all for now. I can’t post my Secret Santa things until my recipients get them, so those project must remain a secret for now. I’m not sure if they might snoop over here, so I can’t risk it. Other than that, I have to come up with some things to make for darling Chels for Yule. Her empty stocking beckons…
