This package is for Joeslines at IllustratedATCs.com. I love doing Secret Santa… and Secret-just-about-anything else they come up with.
First up is a set of Star Wars ornaments, painted on wooden ornament shapes I got at Dollarama. I think they’re cute, considering I’m not into Star Wars. And considering I think my Chewbacca came out looking a bit like fuzzy balls. Yup, I said it.
And Princess Leia’s hair buns fit into the shape of a bow on a gift box shape. LOL
I think Chewie is my favourite, despite his unfortunate snowman shape.
Next up is a 4×4 chunky page of Bette and Dot Tattler, from the 2014 season of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Joe collects side show chunkies so I thought they’d be a good addition to his book.
The back of the page has the lyrics to the song they sang on stage, which is eluding me now that I want to tell you… Naturally.
I really liked the Coven series of American Horror Story, and I’m planning to send out a deco for that theme when I get around to decorating a cover for such a thing. I LOVED Misty Day sooooo much.
Last of all the handmade stuff, I painted a set of classic movie monster ATCs in sepia-washed tones. I really like how these came out.
It’s probably obvious, but there’s Frankenstein’s monster, the Wolfman, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. If I ever get Joe as a swap buddy again, I’ll have to add to this set.
Anyhow, there was also chocolate, and what I thought was a cool cryptozoology ‘newsletter’ that was actually an ad for alcohol. I wish I’d picked up more of those when I found it. I could not for the life of me find anywhere open for weeks that had postcards to send along. I was really disappointed. Maybe if I get a chance I’ll randomly send one for a surprise.
